Financial Ledger & Accounting Systems Hub (FLASH), a division within Amazon's eCommerce Foundation Organization (eCF) is leading significant innovations in business systems integration and financial data processing. Our systems are advancing one of the world's most scalable, reliable, and secure e-commerce platforms that processes hundreds of billions of dollars in transactions, in multiple currencies and countries.

FLASH is looking for an experienced development engineer to continue growing and scaling our world-class cash reconciliation platform that processes and reconciles statements worth over 250 billion dollars USD every year. Targeted towards cash accounting users, the system aims to simplify and expedite the cash reconciliation process at Amazon. The system needs to perform a holistic automated reconciliation of all banking activity (receipts, disbursements, intercompany wires, bank fees, etc.) at scale, by systematically performing all the manual tasks that are implemented by accountants and analysts daily.

We want a hard-core computer scientist who loves designing algorithms, choosing optimal data structures, and writing code. Exceptional software design skills are critical to our success. You must be seriously interested in quality.

As a technical lead of the team, you will help us mold cloud computing technologies (SQS, QLDB, S3, EMR, DynamoDB, EKS and Lambda) into the secure, scalable global enterprise financial integration platform that will serve Amazon for decades.

You should be a self-starting, and self-directing software development engineer who is creative and passionate about designing, developing, implementing and operating multi-tiered, highly configurable distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services. You will be expected to work in a heterogeneous environment of different languages and technologies and bring flexibility, speed, and quality to our team. You should have a solid and diverse background in the fundamentals of software development and have a deep understanding of Java/C++ with strong OOAD fundamentals. We are looking for a team member who can effectively deal with ambiguity and work independently to clarify requirements, translate those requirements into technical specifications and design documents and deliver results in a timely manner.
