An opportunity to join the founding members of a new Alexa engineering team at Amazon.

Come join this brand new software team behind Alexa, building the speech and language solutions behind Amazon Echo and other Amazon software and services. You can help us invent the future software. As a founder member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the software development and launch of a group of core Alexa features. You will have significant influence on our overall software strategy by helping define these Alexa features, and spearheading best software practices to enable a superior Alexa product.

We encourage bold exploration of interactions and experiments that push innovation and use these learnings to bolster the foundation of best practice reference design patterns that foster a consistent, efficient, and familiar cross-product Alexa experience.

You will work among the Alexa founding members of a new Alexa engineering team with opportunities to shape our initial products and lead the charge as we play a major role in the evolution of Alexa. Your time with us will be impactful, and your vision, creativeness and engineering output adopted by teams across Alexa and Amazon.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work on key Alexa feature development, focusing on building Alexa user interfaces for applications
* Work through all phases of the project lifecycle, including reviewing requirements, designing Alexa services that lay foundation for the new Alexa technology platform, building new interfaces and also integrate with existing architectures, developing and testing code, and delivering seamless implementations for Alexa customers
* Ownership of projects that operate cross-functionally with multiple Alexa engineering, design and product teams
* Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against defined schedules and milestones
