The Kindle Publisher Reporting team is responsible for providing publishers and authors highly actionable and near real-time data across their worldwide catalog. This allows them to respond quickly to evolving reader needs and as a result provide customers with widest possible selection, in preferred formats and devices, at the best available pricing.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional technical expertise in large scale data pipelines, BI systems with hands-on knowledge of SQL, Distributed data storage and AWS services such as EMR, S3 and Redshift. You will be passionate and obsess about providing a premium customer experience

Core responsibilities:

* Lead design and implementation of data models, data pipeline and ETL work.
* Design and build infrastructure to enable self-service on-boarding of new data sources to this data pipeline.
* As we move in towards Analytics and Insights, enable Data Scientists with right data and infrastructure to build necessary ML models.
* Help the product/engineering team on gathering data needed for defining business and technical strategy.
* Leverage available instrumentation/data to provide insights that will help drive continuous improvements or reporting and analytics.
* Design and build data visualization tools for our data pipeline.
* From operational and engineering excellence standpoint, help drive data engineering best practices and set the highest operational excellence standards.
* Train other engineers on advances in distributed systems, AWS big data technologies and large-scale data handling/processing.
