Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Department Description:

Oracle's Managed Cloud Engineering team is a group of highly specialized architects/operators comprised of cloud, network, server, and storage Infrastructure disciplines within the Oracle OMCS/ACS group. They work closely with customers and partners all around the globe in support of customer cloud migrations, and new cloud builds.

Oracle's Managed Cloud Engineering Team is the nerve center of cloud adoption initiatives. It's a fast-paced environment, in which members have to provide high-quality results, make decisions on the go, and show excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include:

Accelerating cloud adoption by customers and partners.

Provide consistent and continuous feedback to cloud Product Engineering teams.

Support customer on-premise network migrations to the cloud.

Implement cloud infrastructure in support of customer cloud migration, and new cloud builds.

Translate physical legacy topology and policy onto the OCI platform.

Participate in on-call rotation.

Job Description:

The Infrastructure Managed Cloud Architect is a hands-on role focused on building best practices and implementation programs that maximize the customer adoption of OCI.

This individual has to serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor who facilitates the migration and deployment of workloads from on-premise environments to the Oracle Cloud. The candidate will provide technical support and architectural guidance to customers and internal teams to ensure a successful cloud deployment and go-live.

The Cloud Solution Architect will manage creation and delivery of technical content, with a focus on cloud networking topologies, cloud - on-premise network integration, cloud VPN configurations, Oracle cloud fast connect, BGP, MPLS, cloud VPC, DNS, and Load Balancing configurations for the cloud. Ideally, but not mandatory, the person will have operating system related skills(Linux, Solaris, Windows Server) and storage related skills(NFS, ZFS, etc.)

In this role, one will engage with a broad cross-section of internal and external stakeholders - development, support, Oracle consulting services, and third-party partners to drive cloud adoption efforts. Desired Skills and Experience:

8 years of work experience in any combination of engineering, and consulting in the area of cloud computing with increasing responsibilities and with a particular focus on networking.

Experience in performing technical assessments and audits of network and security IT infrastructure.

Strong knowledge of networks in the context of cloud environments. Other Hands-on experience with VPN solutions, IPSec, MPLS, BGP, Software Defined Networks, enterprise network equipment like routers, firewalls, switches (Cisco, Juniper, and others) are a must.

Experience in managing infrastructure with software: Python, Napalm, Ansible, and Terraform.

Exposure to Public Clouds: AWS, AZURE, Google, OCI, etc

Create and improve documentation, lead infrastructure improvement programs, track, and report progress.

Experience configuring and hardening network systems to meet STIG controls.

Experience designing network environments to meet government security standards.

Knowledge of the FedRAMP authorization and assessment processes.

Nice to Have:

Networking and Security related certifications.

Any exposure to Oracle related on-premise products(Oracle DB or Oracle Middleware)

Proven ability in performing rapid assessments of client's internal technology landscape and targeting use cases and deployment targets for OCI technology.

B.S. in Computer Science & Engineering or equivalent work experience
