Job Description

Position Overview

This position is hands on with a combination of pre and post-sales responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of office technology / IT physical layer build out and relocation. This will include a focus on new technologies for AV, Physical Security Systems, Wi-Fi, Desktop, Collaboration and / or modern/mobile agile workplace solutions. The role will be responsible for helping to evaluate and implement emerging end user technologies in AV, Physical Security and end user technology (such as MS Modern Workplace solutions). This person will work alongside a team of technical subject matter experts (SMEs), providing input and know-how on both large-scale enterprise and SMB transformation programs/projects and acting as a billable resource on key engagements.

Workplace Technology Advisor will be based out of our New York City office; however, this person will be required to work at client locations in the New York metropolitan area occasional travel is possible and dependent on client need. This is a full-time position offering full benefits, a competitive salary, paid training and performance-based bonuses.

Responsibilities

SOLUTION DELIVERY

* Responsible for researching solutions, advising clients and assisting with the technical delivery of AV, physical security systems, advanced desktop, collaboration and mobile solutions
* Provide consulting and advice to clients regarding all aspects of workplace technology including:
* Mobile Workplace
* WiFi
* Physical Security
* Collaboration
* AV
* Workplace Modernization (Desktop and Self-Service)
* Conduct needs analysis and present findings to assist clients in revamping their workplace infrastructure to create a flexible, efficient and highly responsive workplace environment that can boost workforce productivity and collaboration
* Help clients select and implement communications and collaboration solutions that can also integrate with key business processes
* Work with systems, network and Audiovisual teams to delivers integrated solutions
* Develop your consultative skills and learn to engage clients using diverse tools such as process review and design, needs and risk assessment and industry benchmarking as needed
* Take advantage of training and learning opportunities to grow your skill set
* Continually research, test, evaluate and be well-versed in relevant emerging technologies to help anticipate market trends, provide thought leadership and drive continuous enhancement of Align's solution offerings

PRE-SALES SUPPORT

* Communicate the impact of technology and industry trends and the value of each workplace technology service around these trends to clients
* Actively participate in RFP and proposal development, solution pricing and client presentations
* Collaboratively develop client business requirements, formulate solutions and develop business case justifications
* Contribute to Align's thought leadership through blogs and relevant social media platforms

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field with three to six years of broad desktop engineering, AV, Wifi, Integrated Physical Security Systems, End User Technology and Mobile Device Management experience are required
* Well-rounded technologist and is passionate about how organizations can leverage technologies (Desktop, A/V, Gadgets and Consumer) to increase employee productivity, collaboration and engagement
* Some hands-on design, implementation and/or support experience in most of the following areas is required:
* Video Surveillance
* Physical Security
* Access / Entrance Control
* WiFi: 5G and 802.11ax Design
* Desktop hardware and operating systems (Windows 10, 8, 7)
* Presence and collaboration tools (Lync/SharePoint)
* Room Booking and Hoteling Solutions
* Bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools and techniques
* Broad general knowledge in some of the following is preferred:
* Mobile Workplace: Virtualization, Enterprise Device Management, Digital Identity Mobile
* Workplace Modernization: Next Generation Desktop (NGD), Microsoft Modern Workspace Solutions and Desktop Standardization
* Audio Visual (A/V) systems
* Conference tools and Telepresence platforms
* Smart office environmental controls
* Digital signage and IP television
* Excellent consultative skills including: communication, conceptualization, articulation, presentation and facilitation, are essential
* Previous experience as an external consultant to drive change in client firms
