Windows Systems Administrator (Top Secret clearance required)

Job Description

DEI has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator at a DoD agency in Ft. Belvoir, VA. The candidate will provide system administration support to the Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) team by creating and maintaining test environments and supporting the test team by creating test plans for the environment, and executing the test cases and test scripts. This is more than a System Administrator role, it will give you the opportunity to grow professionally and gain insight into the IV&V process by supporting testing efforts for the system environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Create and maintain development and test environments in a virtual environment
* Create test plans
* Execute test cases and test scripts
* Provide Test Reports
* Apply and test Microsoft patches
* Install and test Software and OS upgrades
* Integrate and test software
* Support full scale, end to end, systems testing
* Tuning system performance
* Install system wide software and allocate mass storage space
* Interaction with project and system owners and test engineers

BASIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Active DoD Top Secret security clearance (or higher)
* Bachelor's degree in a related disciple with at 2 years of professional experience (or no years of professional experience with a Master's degree)
* Ability to install and operate Microsoft Windows 2008R2 and 2012R2 servers
* Good understanding of Microsoft Roles
* Understanding of DNS, DC, Printer Server, File Server, etc.
* Experience with virtualization of Microsoft Windows on VMWare platforms
* Basic networking knowledge
* Ability to troubleshoot systems
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations and experiences
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
* Attention to detail
* Ability to secure servers to DoD standards using DISA tools.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Linux skills including installation and support of various Linux operating systems is a plus
