Job Description

DEI has a new Window System Administrator opportunity at Ft Belvoir, VA in support of a DoD agency. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experienced with virtualization of Microsoft Windows and Linux systems on a VMWare ESXi platform; Hands on experience with installing and operating Microsoft Windows 2008R2 and 2012 servers; and hands-on installation and support with most of the MS Roles, especially DHCP, DNS, DC, Printer Server and File Server. The candidate will have strong trouble shooting skills with the Windows enterprise environments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Daily duties include installation of server OS and applications, daily system maintenance, workstation OS installation, applications integration, patches and upgrades to systems, installing cable infrastructure and maintenance of peripheral equipment.
* Develops and maintains user, technical, and system documentation as project deliverables.
* Interacts with project owners, users and test engineers.
* Includes testing of systems, applications, patches, images and devices within the engineering projects lab and occasionally in the production environment. Test process can include the creation of the test lab by cloning and or creating the needed systems and infrastructure
* Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
* Creates administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
* Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
* Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
* Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

BASIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Active Top Secret clearance (or higher)
* Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 6 years of professional experience
* Active Security+
* Active Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP),
* Proven experience in Windows 2008R2/2012 installation, maintaining and troubleshooting
* Experience with DISA security checklists (STIG) and Retina SCAP and IAVM scanning.
* Experience with Group Policies Objects in an enterprise environment
* Demonstrated experience with Active Directory
* Working Knowledge of VMWare
* Ability to work effectively independently as well as within a team environment
* Excellent Communication skills
* Demonstrated a strong work ethic and ability and willingness to take on new challenges

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* VMWare Experience with a VMware Certified Professional certification
* Ability to lead the implementation/maintenance of enterprise level services including Microsoft DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory; create, edit, and apply GPOs
