Responsibilities

Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators' experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

As a Field Service and Remote Engineer, you'll provide on-site maintenance and remote technical support services to our amazing customers - including exciting professional and collegiate sports teams.

Shift: Thursday - Monday - hours/days may vary depending on regional service needs and scheduled events.

The desired location for this position will be in the East Rutherford, NJ area. Some of the on-site supported venues in the coverage area would be:

MetLife Stadium Red Bull Arena Kean University Lakewood Blue Claws Monmouth Rutgers

* Onsite support consists of Maintenance of Daktronics equipment within your service area.
* Provide on-site technical and maintenance services for all display and control equipment.
* You will be dispatched to customer sites for service call and event support activities
* Your schedule may include nights, weekends, event support and on-call situations.
* Perform pre-event equipment checks and repairs.
* Work events predominately at Met Life Stadium & Red Bull Arena.




* Remote support of Daktronics equipment.
* Provide technical phone support to internal and external customers from all over the world as scheduled.
* Ensure responsiveness and first-time resolution to customers' request for technical support primarily through incoming and proactive outbound calls
* Troubleshoot and solve simple to highly complex hardware and software technical issues using logical troubleshooting approach with attention to detail.
* Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Provide software application installation/configuration support along with "how to" assistance.


* Follow our standardized procedures for each customer interaction and service event, including case documentation.
* Gain detailed technical knowledge of Daktronics displays and controllers through formal classroom and online training as well as through on the job training.
* Assist as requested in training Service Partners and other technical staff.Use your excellent communications skills to competently represent Daktronics to customers, providing a positive service experience each time.
* Work effectively as a team member assisting when and where needed. Become knowledgeable about and follow company procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Bachelor in Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or similar technical degree.
* Previously demonstrated ability to pick up technical concepts quickly and retain that knowledge.
* Demonstrated experience interacting with a variety of individuals in a positive, professional manner.
* Basic computer skills required. Prefer experience with Microsoft Office and applicable data entry systems.
* Must be able to work from a home-office which requires maintaining a distraction free, quiet, work environment.
* May be assigned to travel to support customers or for training for extended lengths of time.
* Able to work at heights or from a ladder and able to carry ladder/tools/parts from vehicle to work site.
* Ability to lift, carry and move up to 65 pounds.
* Available to work evenings and/or weekends to support facility schedules. May include working with short-notice and on-call responsibilities.
* Must be self-motivated, organized and responsible to plan, execute, and document work.
* Must be able to complete work responsibilities with little supervision. Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
* Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
* Ability to travel via ground and air both domestic and international. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle record will be checked. Company vehicle provided.
* Background check will be conducted. Background check must meet both Daktronics and our customer requirements and expectations.
