Job Description

Shutterfly is looking for a Software Engineer. Shutterfly leads the industry in design, service and innovation. You will join a team of talented engineers to work in a variety of front-end initiatives including search, browse and filter.

Responsibilities:

* Build and design components and web services to support the Shutterfly platform
* Interface with architecture team, operations, fulfillment partners, customer service and lab engineering to gather requirements to build new features and functionality within ecommerce critical to support technical initiatives
* Develop calculations and algorithms to optimize shipping times, reduce costs through order consolidation, and other related calculations by working with operations
* Develop tools and backend code to speed up the launch of new products
* Perform functional decomposition of architecture requirements and processes into reusable REST-based SOA models
* Troubleshoot and support all order related issues both customer facing as well as with Shutterfly partners

Desired Skills and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
* Expertise in an object oriented programming language such as Java, C#, C++ or Python
* Solid background in data structures, algorithms and object-oriented programming
* Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
* Experience with relational databases and SQL
* Experience with Unix/Linux
* Ability to quickly grasp new technologies
