Overview
EIS is seeking motivated professionals (analysts, scientists, engineers, specialists and technicians) interested in working in small team environments in the areas of analysis, production and dissemination of vital, timely and accurate scientific, technical and intelligence information to key consumers worldwide.
Responsibilities
The WAN Systems Engineer will build, install, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain external data communication circuits and associated WAN network interface equipment for Hopper Information Services Center (HISC) supported customers worldwide to allow for 24 hour a day uninterrupted service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring and maintaining WAN equipment resident within the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC) Technical Control Facility (TCF) and remote classified networks in designated areas of the world. The WAN System Engineer will also oversee installations and any changes or upgrades to existing network and communications plant.
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements:
* Active TS/SCI security clearance
* H.S. Diploma or GED
* 4-6 years experience with WAN technologies and environments
* Knowledge with Remedy incident management tool
* Proficient in: MS VISIO, EIGRP, BGP, SNMP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, ARP, dot1Q, VLANs, VPN, GRE, subnetting, masking, and various other routing and networking protocols.
* Proficient with various network management tools (Solarwinds, nGenius, Infinistream, etc)
* Proficient with cryptography and various IP and serial encryption technologies to include HAIPE, TACLANE, STU and STE encrypted communication devices
* Proficient with Telecommunications technologies and devices such as modems, T-1 extenders, multiplexers, optical transport, T1, E1, ATM, DS3, T3, Metro-Ethernet, OC-n and Long-haul circuitry such as Public Switched Networks, SONET, MPLS, VPN, ISDN
Require Certifications:
* CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Network+, Security+
