The Division of Information Technology seeks highly motivated, dedicated and energetic Stevens Graduate or Undergraduate students to work up to 20 hours per week during Spring 2019 semester as a VLE Student Technician.
Ideally, the applicant will be interested in continuing to work into the Summer 2019 semester for up to 35 hours per week, and the Fall 2019 semester for up to 20 hours per week.
* Must be a Stevens undergraduate student. Graduate student preferred. * Must be in good academic standing. * Work Study eligibility is NOT a requirement. * All majors are welcome to apply.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, and of fundamental importance. * Experience with SolidWorks is preferred. * Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic and highly collaborative environment. * Excellent customer service orientation required, and successful prior customer service experience would be beneficial. * Demonstrated ability to quickly and thoroughly learn technologies, support processes, and user service techniques. * Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems. * Competency in Microsoft technologies, including Windows and Office suite. * Competency in mainstream technologies including computer configurations, web browsers, the Internet, email, etc.
* Provide IT support relating to technical issues involving the Stevens Virtual Learning Environment * Perform maintenance to the Stevens Virtual Learning Environment infrastructure. * Gain an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the Virtual Learning Environment's operations and procedures. * Provide support for various projects within Information Technology and the Stevens community as requested/directed. * Update departmental documentation and ticketing system resources. * Ensure a professional and courteous customer experience. * Other duties as assigned.
