The Walt Disney Company's Direct-to-Consumer and International segment (DTCI) is a global, multiplatform media, technology and distribution organization for high-quality content created by Disney's Studio Entertainment and Media Networks groups.

The Walt Disney Company will launch a Disney-branded streaming service in 2019 featuring an incomparable collection of content from its brands and franchises recognized and respected all over the world. The direct-to-consumer (DTC) service will serve as the exclusive home for viewing original movies, series, short-form, and more, along with a vibrant catalogue that spans classic Disney Animation to the most recent movie releases.

We're looking for a talented, and team-oriented Visual Designer to join our San Francisco-based product design team. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and will thrive upon the legacy of our company while embracing unconventional thinking. Basic Qualifications

* An online portfolio featuring great work for mobile, tv, and web applications and brand/identity.
* 3-5 years experience designing and shipping successful consumer products in a fast-paced technology environment.
* Utilizing rapid prototyping and iterative design techniques.
* Designing for multiple platforms and screens.
* Defining and evolving design systems
* Working closely with a cross-functional team of designers, software engineers, product managers, and business owners through all product development phases.
* Delivering engineering-friendly design specifications and documentation.
* Familiarity with version control.
* Informing and evangelizing the design process.


* Mastery of graphic design fundamentals and tools. Typography, Layout, Color. Motion design/editing skills are an advantage.
* Professional experience with digital media/entertainment and associated platforms (mobile, web, TV) is a significant advantage
* Experience in articulating conceptual and design decisions
* Proven leadership and strategic ability
* A love of television, film, and entertainment.
* Smart, conceptual, confident, competent, adaptable, proactive, and results-oriented.

Responsibilities

* Define visual user interfaces for mobile, web, and tv-based media applications. Focus on UI, product branding, and content branding.
* Follow a user experience design process from concept to execution; approach design from a user's perspective, listening to users and balancing their needs alongside business goals and technical capabilities.
* Collaborate with fellow designers (UX, motion/prototypers) to help evolve the design language of the applications.
* Communicate with stakeholders (representing business, product, and engineering) to understand requirements and priorities.
* Generate design work plans; accurately estimate work items and communicate dependencies and issues as necessary.
* Communicate design decisions and specifications in a scalable and reproducible form.
* Participate in the development of the larger design team through dialogue, mentoring, and internal projects (for example, tool and process research, template and pattern creation).
* You are responsible for the emotional and brand tenor of the design
* You continually push to humanize our products
* You seek out new ways to enhance the standing of the product and brand
