Visual Design Manager

We are looking for a creative visionary…a boundary-pushing, visual ninja that can help rally a diverse group of designers, product owners, technologists, and executives around a compelling vision of where we're going.

As a manager-level designer, you will help build the brand and experience vision, working on the most dynamic range of projects imaginable, supporting leadership and providing visual guidance across one of consumer bank's largest teams.

You will, at one time, be working with one of your product teams on design of the in-app native mobile banking experience. At other times, you will be working with the marketing and physical experience teams to design touch-screen interactives for branches and cafes. And at other times, you will be helping to craft the story of the future of digital banking through animated storyboards, short films and pitch decks intended for an executive audience.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate effectively with partners including designers, researchers, engineering, product management, marketing, executives and others


* Work closely with development teams to ensure that design are implemented to specifications


* Continuously listening and understanding the needs to communicate ideas and data effectively


* Assist Product and Design Leaders in developing a plan and presentation for support and consensus among a broad audience


* Apply conceptual thinking to create world-class digital services across multiple platforms, bringing together user needs, business goals and technical realities


* Develop sound UX concepts, including the definition of customer needs, task analysis, and the creation of personas, scenarios and user flows


* Conceptualize and test ideas using rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototyping


* Create storyboards, mood boards, iconography, and direction for photography, videos, animations and illustrations


* Design end-to-end experiences using participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights, learn about user behaviour and validate design concepts


* Demonstrate presentation design skills by creating clear compelling stories from technical information and business analytics utilizing Google Slides, Keynote and/or PowerPoint tools.


* Translate concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity despite system or organizational complexity


* Transform complex data into immediately intuitive data visualizations


* Occasionally turn around top-quality work on an abbreviated timeline


* Participate in and contribute to pre-, mid-, and post-project reviews



Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* Portfolio/Samples of work to display your ability to visually communicate


* Ability to balance brand, communication and business objectives and priorities



Basic Qualifications:

* At least 5 years of brand development and multichannel marketing experience


* At least 5 years of Data visualization experience


* At least 5 years of experience with Sketch, Invision and Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign


* At least 3 years of experience within Google Slides, Keynote and PowerPoint



Preferred Qualifications:

* 8+ years of agency environment work experience


* Video Production Skills


* Awareness and Understanding of Business Analytics fundamentals


* A solid understanding of design, copy, multimedia, native mobile and web best practices/guidelines


* Narrative storytelling abilities that can weave strategic narratives and unassailable data together into a compelling story


* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members at all levels.
