This is a part-time position in the Technology and Support Services department of the Santa Ana Public Library. The incumbent(s) may work up to 20 hours per week. Work schedule is to be determined. There are currently four (4) vacancies but this number is subject to change. This recruitment is open until further notice and can close at any time and without notice.

Bilingual pay is an additional $1.01/hr, if applicable.

Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To

Under general direction, provide assistance and instruction to a wide-range of students in the use of computers, the Internet, educational software, computer applications, and electronic resources. Additionally, provide assistance in the development of computer classes and lab monitoring. Maintain a clean and orderly environment conducive to studying and learning. Assist in planning, organizing, promoting and conducting educational activities or programs for students. Assist in the development and implementation of library goals and objectives. Participate cooperatively in work team activities and may be required to perform other library-related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

* Completed or currently enrolled in a four-year university or college with above-average academic achievement in a wide range of subject areas.
* If enrolled at a community college, must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
* College students with video production, graphic design, computer software or hardware, computer troubleshooting, and/or information technology skills are preferred.
* Bilingual skills in Spanish or Vietnamese is preferred
* Experience with computers in a Windows environment or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the desired knowledge and abilities in computer technology.

Knowledge of: Basic use of office equipment, computers and printers, Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and the Internet; and searching techniques on the Internet and the library's online databases. Experience working with video production and/or graphic design technology is highly desirable.

Ability to: Understand and communicate with people in a wide range of ages from youth to senior citizens. Continue learning about computer resources and search strategies on the Internet. Perform simple computer troubleshooting tasks when necessary.

Must be willing and able to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
