Job Description

We're looking for a select few uniquely excellent software engineers to join our world-class team. PDTers are creative, energetic, friendly, entrepreneurial, and collaborative. Engineering jobs at PDT have some different flavors with a mix of C++, Java, and Python focuses. Having said that, we're open to any OOP experience, so long as you're comfortable working in one of our primary languages.

Within the Trading Operations Technology group, there are two teams which are described below:

Trading Business Technology

Trading Business Technology covers the platform that routes and manages all of our post-trade data, as well as the software that handles the intricate needs of our fund accounting and operations teams. Designing software tailored to those needs-related to wire transfers, expense allocation, and exchange fees, to name a few-is a top business priority with clear, significant impact.

* Understand (and anticipate) the software challenges faced by our fund accounting and operations teams, then engineer efficient, user-friendly solutions
* Contribute to the evolution of our post-trade technology stack for finance, risk, and compliance
* Help select, vet, and integrate open-source and third-party platforms
* Qualifications: 3+ years of professional software development experience

Trading Control

Trading Control provides software to observe, analyse, respond to and disseminate data about our trading. We work closely with the Risk, Portfolio Managers, and Compliance teams to design software to observe and analyse our trading to ensure we are trading within expected bounds, both in real-time and at end of day. Trading data and issues detected are disseminated to the Operations team, for whom we write tools to allow them to respond quickly and efficiently should intervention be required. Ensuring our trading is safe, reliable and compliant, as well as providing tools to respond quickly and confidently is a top business priority with clear, significant impact.

* Understand (and anticipate) the software requirements for our Portfolio Managers and Risk, Compliance and Operations teams, then engineer efficient, user-friendly solutions
* Contribute to the evolution of our technology stack
* Help select, vet, and integrate open-source and third-party platforms
* Qualifications: 4-8+ years of professional software development experience

Additional Qualifications for all Engineering Roles:

* Exceptional programming skills
* Experience designing fully automated, readily scalable, and highly reliable software systems
* Familiarity with UNIX/Linux, network/distributed systems programming, multithreaded programming, lock-free algorithms, complex scheduling problems, and domain-specific languages is helpful
* Knowledge of trading and finance isn't required

Education:

* Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science from an excellent academic program
