As a member of the Trading Group Engineering team at PEAK6 Capital Management, you'll have a big impact on the firm. You'll work within our proprietary trading group and have genuine opportunities to shape the future of our trading efforts using technology. This is a role for someone with expertise in Python as well as the motivation to mentor and develop other quantitative team members in a fast-paced environment. This role will report to the Trading Group Engineering Lead.

You'll be responsible for:

* Designing tech solutions for a diverse set of end users
* Taking ownership on trading applications from design to production
* Building upon existing PEAK6 platforms and creating new frameworks and libraries
* Iterate quickly on new tasks within an agile workflow culture
* Mentoring and developing quantitative traders into strong code contributors
* Building relationships between our trading groups, analytics, and technology

You'll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:

* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
* 3+ years of development experience in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency in Python
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, as well as attention to detail
* Experience developing asynchronous applications using the multithreading, multiprocessing, and concurrent.futures modules
* Familiarity with Linux and Git SCM
* Experience with Numpy, Pandas, modern JavaScript frameworks, and writing user stories is a plus
