Job Overview:

The Product Integrity Testing Analyst will work closely with various internal departments as well as third party testing labs to ensure the quality, safety and integrity of the product. The analyst will ensure Macy's Private Label merchandise is tested as described in the Private Brands testing program and complies with all internal, Federal, State and industry requirements.

The Analyst - Product Integrity will be known as a trusted, collaborative and results-oriented business partner who possesses professional maturity and ability to build strong partnerships. The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable and effective at devising and recommending assortment strategies at department, class, and vendor levels. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

* Provide testing guidance to product teams, suppliers and overseas offices
* Review product lines and identify any quality and/ or safety concerns
* Independently determine additional testing requirements based on product claims and development needs
* Review all product test reports
* Communicate findings to the product teams, overseas offices, suppliers, mills, etc.
* Maintain detailed testing history including physical and electronic files as required
* Create and adhere to Time and Action calendars
* Follow up on all pending testing to ensure completion prior to x-factory dates
* Conduct in-house testing as needed and communicate any concerns with appropriate departments
* Attend all new supplier meetings and send follow up communication as needed
* Work with labs to resolve day to day discrepancies with reports and inconsistencies between service providers
* Communicate major issues, trends, findings to supervisor
* Conduct benchmark projects
* Support Customer Feedback Manager with customer inquiries as needed
* Conduct in-store audits to verify compliance and communicate any concerns with appropriate departments
* Attend technical training classes and seminars to enhance knowledge of assigned area
* Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

* Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Extensive knowledge of Federal, State and Industry requirements.
* Extensive knowledge of textile test methods and testing requirements.

Communication Skills:

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret test reports and test data.

Mathematical Skills:

* Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.

Reasoning Ability:

* Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions.



Physical Demands:

* This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
* May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
* May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
* Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
* May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.

Other Skills:

* Highly organized, ability to prioritize (sense of urgency) and attention to detail required.
* Ability to work well independently and adapt in a dynamic environment.
* Personable, team and service oriented - ability to build relationships with business and vendor partners.
* Proficiency in PC operation, MS Office, Excel.

* Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
