Responsible for installation, modification and maintenance of the voice telecommunications systems and services for assigned Inova Health System locations. Performs all services necessary to install and move telephony and voice connections including, but not limited to, programming software, basic ACD applications, Call Processing applications and other voice applications. Performs all services to repair and troubleshoot pagers, paging systems, wireless and cordless communications systems and telephone connections. Maintains complete and accurate documentation involving completion of service request, resolutions of issues reported through the Customer Support Line or approved project work requests. Consistently communicates technical issues with other members of the team. Trains and orients end-user staff and provides feedback to manager as appropriate. Proficient in developing and managing project plans. Creates, plans and manages assigned projects. Communicates project and team status to internal and external audiences to keep project team informed. Designs and implements VoIP and PBX systems.

Requirements

5-7 years of Telecommunications experience required.

7-10 years of Telecommunications experience preferred.

Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, Navy technical training or work experience.

Vendor training on Cisco and Avaya/Nortel or equivalent required.

1 or more certifications - CCENT, CCNP, ACSS, ACIS, Nortel, Avaya ACSS or equivalent. Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Experience with telephony technical skills, T1, T3, Frame Relay, ISDN, VoIP, Ethernet, hubs, switches, and CISCO and/or Avaya PBX required.

Demonstrated experience in working in a large, geographically dispersed Healthcare environment preferred.
