The Organization

Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is a network of charter schools serving students across the PK-Post Secondary continuum in the Greater MacArthur Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Pueblo Nuevo Education Development Group (EDG) is CNCA's resource development and capacity building arm. PN-EDG invests in young people to foster personal transformation and generational social change. PN-EDG staff support and build capacity for CNCA schools in achieving their vision. The organizations are grounded in the beliefs that public education is a civil right and all students deserve an excellent education that will prepare them for success in life. At CNCA/PN-EDG, we recognize that lower income and immigrant communities often face institutional and cultural barriers that create impediments to students' success, and that an excellent education must eliminate these barriers. We integrate a strong focus on progressive, research-based academics with a holistic, place-based approach to serving our students. Since opening its doors in 2001, CNCA has grown to 8 schools and nearly 3,500 students. Our goal is that by 2022, 2,000 CNCA graduates will be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and worldview necessary to be literate, critical thinkers and independent problem solvers. As a result of this success, 90% will have been accepted to, 80% will have attended and 60% will have graduated from a 4-year college within 6 years.

The Opportunity

The Technology Support Specialist ll in partnership with and at the direction of the Director of Information Technology will work strategically at a systems level to ensure that technology standards and practices are in place for operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Strategy and Vision Setting Responsibilities

* Serve as an integral part of the Technology Support Team and the Operations and Systems Team.
* At the direction of the Director of Technology, the IT Coordinator participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the CNCA infrastructure.
* Collaborate in the development of structures and processes to increase the level of excellence across in the CNCA technology services.
* Elevate challenges that arise within IT Systems Deployments and work with Director of Technology to inform and improve work.
* Monitor the effectiveness of system deployments through the use of key metrics.

Administrative Management and Compliance Responsibilities

* Ensure that all system deployment functions and projects are effectively carried out and meet high expectations
* Coordinates and manages the CNCA technology system deployment planning, support and reimaging process
* Will serve as the lead expert on the IT team for the KACE System Management and Deployment systems.
* Responsible for developing the "Golden Image" along with updating all software that will be deployed to computers used by Camino Nuevo Charter Academy.
* Assist in maintaining the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of technology related equipment of Camino Nuevo Charter Academy's infrastructure.
* The Technology Support Specialist ll will assist with the CNCA technical strategy; research & development for projects; technical analysis and design and support of deployment, executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions.
* Support the Director of Technology in short and long-term technology deployment/management needs to ensure the success of the CNCA 3.0 vision and mission.
* Manage the Technology Support Team in the daily triage of service requests submitted by schools and provide technical expertise as required to facilitate school demands.
* Help maintain/update/troubleshoot the different technical programs used at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy.
* Effectively communicate on project responsibilities orally and in writing to the Director of Technology to aid in planning and execution of programs within the IT Support Team and Operations and Systems Group.
* Will serve as lead and owner of CNCA Telecommunications management and deployment. (VOIP, POTS and Cellular)
* Will serve as lead and owner of CNCA Video Surveillance and Bell Scheduling systems
* Contribute to preparation and presentation of regular status reports related to System Management and Deployment for meetings as needed
* Establish relationships with outside agencies related to IT Deployment Systems used by the CNCA Schools and HSO
* Communicate effectively orally and in writing
* Other duties as assigned.

Hourly rate: $27.00-$31.00
