Job Description

Position Summary:

Exciting opportunity to play a lead role in educational technology implementation at the University of Chicago Charter School. You will be part of a technical support team working with school leaders and students to coordinate and support a variety of instructional technology in a K-12 educational setting across our four campuses.

Install, maintain, and coordinate usage of laptops, iPads, desktops, chrome books, document cameras, smart boards, etc. and a variety of software for the University of Chicago Charter School campuses. The technology support specialists are responsible for maintaining the software and hardware across our campuses.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

* Work with teachers and other staff, in response to HelpDesk requests
* Install and maintain all desktops and laptops in schools. This includes diagnosing issues with hardware and software and providing a remedy or coordinating repairs.
* Install and maintain student and staff software, including the operating system and any instructional and administrative software
* Install and maintain computer accessories and peripherals and auxiliary systems as needed
* Attend training related to position
* Maintain a current inventory of all hardware in use at the schools including weekly device condition audits

Position Qualifications:

* Knowledge and experience troubleshooting Apple desktops/laptops/iPads/Chromebooks/etc.
* Ability to work in a complex environment and manage simultaneous demands from various sources
* Must be self-directed and able to manage and prioritize projects and tasks
* Familiarity with application and creativity software, including Web-based software
* Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
* Ability to deal effectively and courteously with school personnel and the general public
* Exhibits interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member
* Initiative in identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement
* Receptive to feedback and committed to ongoing growth
* Dependable transportation to travel between campuses is required.

Education and Experience Required:

* Associate's required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Two years of experience as computer technician or similar.
* Knowledge of hardware and software systems described above.
* Prior experience in a school or district setting is a plus.
* Experience with MS Office (Mac & Windows), PowerSchool, Google Apps for Education/ Business, JAMF and SCCM
* Windows 10, macOS, ChromeOS, iOS and network experience a plus.
* Experience with photography, videography, 3D printing and digital music creation tools a plus.
