About the Position

For the Technology Scout role, we are eager to find candidates with a desire to collaborate and learn more about the future of the automotive mobility space. As a Innovation Lab San Francisco associate you'll form part of a rugged team that is constructing future solutions, today. As part of the scouting team you will actively source new technology partners and assess their capabilities, synthesize learnings and help report out to the broader teams, conduct due diligence analysis for key partnerships, and manage relationships with our scouting partners and startups. Your curiosity and motivation will be key to keep our day-to-day operation moving forward.

Primary Responsibilities

Scouting:

* Actively source new technology partners following our internal scouting framework
* Attend industry events (meetups, partner events, conferences, etc).
* Reach out and meet with potential partners (startups, companies, etc.)
* Identify potential partners and put them to the test
* Connect with internal teams to identify areas of interest to focus scouting efforts

Assess technology partners:

* Craft claims tests designed to assess our partners' key capabilities
* Coordinate and perform claims tests with our partners
* Document test results using our standardized tools and artifacts
* Communicate clearly with startups, companies, universities, or research centers about expectations, goals, and status of different projects

Scouting Knowledge Management

* Continually update multiple internal documentation artifacts to reflect latest state of affairs and knowledge
* Prepare presentations to show results

Intelligence Reporting

* Research and prepare reports to share results of tests and/or technology areas
* Prepare due diligence reports to assess and compare potential partners
* Craft intelligence presentations to share scouting knowledge
* Present reports to internal teams

Others

* Elaborate new frameworks to synthesize new insights
* Coordinate projects with internal and external stakeholders
* General support of ILSF intelligence needs

Required Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree (related field) required
* Master's Degree (related field) desired
* 3+ years experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 3+ years experience with a Master's degree

Skills and Abilities

* Relationship building, collaboration, self-starter, accountable, curious
* Understanding and curiosity of the entrepreneurial ecosystem
* Excellent organization skills, ability to manage many processes and relationships at the same time
* Ability to leverage specialized knowledge of our SME's
* Ability to identify and articulate useful problem statements, user needs, use cases
