JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Acts as the lead solution engineer or technical lead tasked with driving approved technologies that align with technical architecture, customer`s business plans and long-term strategy


* Defines the technical roadmap for aligned teams and works with other technologists to outline the roadmap at the portfolio level


* Makes recommendations to improve process efficiency and effectiveness. Partners with squads drive and define the modernization strategy for key components of existing systems


* Consults on major architectural designs to ensure consistency, security, maintainability and flexibility with respect to overall architectures within a domain or portfolio


* Defines authentication and authorization patterns that put the customer experience first while ensuring applications and data are secured appropriately


* Contributes toward forecasts of business and IT trends to define the technical direction within a portfolio and the market


* Brings a focus on high quality applications that demonstrate modern CICD patterns including automated integration and performance testing


* Guides the development of system, technical and product standards based on business plan and vision. In coordination with Architecture, researches and makes innovative recommendations around new technologies


* Responsible for prototyping complex, cross platform business solutions to validate newer technologies


* Furthers open communication on aligned teams, encourages bi-directional feedback. Guides team members in taking ownership of key squad responsibilities.


* Participates in the evaluation and selection of hardware and software product standards.


* Maintains collaborative and strategic partnerships between customers, vendors, business partners, and IT


* Crafts dashboards to monitor application health and performance


* Contributes to decisions that impact profitability and operational effectiveness


* Facilitates cross-team/train findings, communication and alignment


* Mentor junior engineers



DESIRED SKILLS:

* Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience; technical Master`s degree preferred


* Minimum of 10 years related experience


* In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies


* Experience building and tuning applications on public cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or GCP


* Direct experience with CICD pipelines using tools such as Bamboo or Jenkins


* Deep understanding and experience with modern security practices based on OAuth, OIDC, SAML


* Knowledgeable in software engineering languages and tools; proficient in new and emerging technologies


* Full stack development experience, including security layer, UI, services and data-stores


* Experience building applications with Node, Java and one or more UI frameworks such as React or Angular


* Experience with Agile software development practices


* Highly developed negotiation, consensus building & influencing skills, facilitation and the adaptability to respond to change quickly


* Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills


* Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization



WHAT YOU'LL DO:

* Be a servant technical leader with a team-first mindset


* Support teams in delivering services with high availability, low latency, and scalability in a micro-service architecture


* Reverse Engineer existing legacy APIs and platforms, to understand and document the best approaches and make recommendations


* Lead technical features spanning multiple teams


* Facilitate collaboration between engineers, product owners, and designers


* Possess a deep understanding of the product and business goals which you can translate into technology decisions


* Architect, design, develop, deploy and operate services that serve our users


* Drive good engineering practices within your team(s) and define and teach these practices within the larger developer community


* Contribute to the vision and long-term strategy in your domain of expertise


* Find ways to spread learning across the organization (gives technical talks, write blogs, etc.)


* Be a department-level authority in a particular area or go-to person for solving problems
