Position Summary:
This position reports to the Ryan Specialty Group (RSG) Director of Infrastructure and is responsible for providing in-person and over the phone support to all local and remote RSG employees. The position covers a wide variety of technologies and systems ranging from desktop software and hardware, telephony, and enterprise software management. We are seeking a highly-motivated technician with a strong technical foundation and excellent customer service and communication skills.
Essential Functions:
* Work as part of a team to support 1000+ users, offering Technical Support both in-person and phone assistance. * Assist end users with a wide variety of systems including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Windows 7, and other company software/hardware. * Provide technical training for new and current employees. * Occasional travel and after-hour work required to perform maintenance or installation of system software/hardware. * Assist Systems Administrators in the configuration and deployment of software packages, servers, and hardware replacement. * Coordinate with the Infrastructure team to detect and troubleshoot technical service issues and resolutions. * Work with the application support teams to provide user insight and experience regarding custom software solutions and implementations. * Communicate with vendors regarding outages, fixes and other miscellaneous issues. * Maintain technical documentation for supported systems. * Other relevant duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills:
* Bachelors' degree from an accredited University or college. * Four years work experience within the Information Technology field. * Experience in a Help Desk related environment. * Advanced knowledge of Windows client operating systems (Windows XP, Windows 7.) * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products. * Experience with installing/repairing desktop hardware components. * Basic understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, VPN, Wireless Networks, Routing, Subnetting. * Basic understanding of Windows Server. * Excellent customer service skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Must be able to work independently with minimal direction. * Keen attention to detail. * Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
