Lyft's Technical Program Management Team is looking for a smart, experienced, and passionate Technical Program Manager (TPM) to manage and assist with Hardware Configuration Management, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management - Arena). Own the engineering and production BOM (Bill of Materials).

Technical Program Managers at Lyft leverage strong leadership, planning, communication, and collaboration skills. Our TPMs are technically strong with hardware, software engineering or systems engineering experience. They are problem solvers who make things happen around them. TPMs at Lyft are both strategic and tactical and do what it takes to successfully deliver key programs that have a material impact on the business.

This exciting TPM role will be focused on hardware solutions to meet our riders last mile needs on Lyft's Bikes & Scooters team.

Preferred candidate is a strategic problem solver who can lead and work with cross-functional teams to manage changes, perform risk analysis, and execute mitigation to support the engineering development builds.

Responsibilities:

* Manage and System Administrator role for our PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
* Obtain feedback from users to develop tools to better suit the needs of both our teams & suppliers.
* Work closely with Technical Program Managers, Engineers, Global Supply Managers and Finance Teams to manage Configuration and Technical Change Control for engineering and production BOM (Bill of Materials)
* Maintain, manage, and track manage BOMs and part numbers. Review technical 2D/3D drawings, schematics, and release complete related technical documentation.
* Ensure that overall product is configured in a way that allows for its proper function and scale at mass production with 99%+ first pass yield
* Create, manage and process Engineering Change Orders, Manufacturer Change Orders and Deviations, and Quality Processes, such as Non-conformances
* Assess financial and technical trade offs of proposed changes and make recommendations to business stakeholders including risk management and escalation when changing build configurations
* Understand product development, asset management, supply chain processes, and engineering systems to plan for correct sequencing of future product configurations
* Ensure single source of truth for production configuration is up to date and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
* Work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Respond to change positively in a fast paced environment
* Act on feedback to learn and grow

Experience & Skills:

* BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, and 5+ years of experience in firmware, planning, hardware development, quality assurance/testing, engineering, deployment, NPI Procurement or project management. QA manager or Quality engineer experience is preferred.
* Strong understanding of mechanical & electrical theory and components
* Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) in a fast paced, dynamic and high change environment
* Working experiences with oversea vendors including NPI projects, purchasing, logistics and Clear To Build
* Up to 25% travel required to other US sites and Asia.
* Proficient in Arena, SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and SmartSheets is preferred
* Data savvy in build planning and budget management
* Proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of extreme ambiguity, with only high-level direction
* Exceptional communications skills to explain highly technical problems and solutions at all levels from engineer to partner to C-level executives
* Able to influence, negotiate and inspire others in a matrixed environment
* Excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail
* Experience delivering projects in large-scale, distributed production systems and 24x7 production operations across multiple sites.
* Experience compiling and presenting business & technology options, backed by data & experimentation, to decision makers
