Job Overview & Responsibilities

Mythics is seeking a Technical Manager to work onsite at the client in New Orleans, LA. The Technical Manager will lead the architecture and development of Enterprise software using Java, Open source, RDBMS and other cutting-edge technologies. As the Technical Manager, you will manage a team of 15-20 and will play a key role in executing application development, integration, business analysis, applications/systems engineering, data/information architecture and technical architectures. This is a program level position and you will be expected to manage multiple projects, provide vision, strategy and roadmap to take the customer to the cloud and execute on it. The Technical Manager will oversee all aspects of the software development tasks while working closely with the Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

* Guiding multiple teams focused on different projects in the development and management efforts towards successful project delivery
* Providing technical leadership to the project teams
* Managing agile development of existing and new systems
* Guiding the design, development and unit testing of applications to realize the User Stories and Use Cases
* Maintaining compliance with architectural, coding and security standards and processes
* Developing, refining and tuning integration of applications
* Creating and maintaining high availability and high-performance systems
* Participating in design and code reviews
* Supporting release manager in release deployments
* Providing estimates of development duration and efforts to the Program Manager with optimal utilization of the project resources
* Supporting requirements gathering, analysis and documentation tasks
* Supporting operations team in application related issue resolution
* Creating solutions based on technology and process innovation to reduce operational costs
* Improving product and process metrics related to Throughput, Quality, Agility and Security
* Leading the transformation/modernization of applications, infrastructure and processes at the program level

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

* Must be a US Citizen to obtain Public Trust clearance
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience
* At least 10 years of experience managing a software development team
* Managed large teams of at least 15
* In depth Cloud experience - AWS
* Significant experience managing other leads and technical staff
* Managed development for multiple/concurrent releases using Agile Scrum
* Good understanding and experience with DevSecOps paradigm and tools
* 3+ years of recent experience in developing web applications using Java, Oracle WebLogic, and Oracle database technologies
* 3+ years of experience in working on Linux, Solaris and VMWARE platforms
* Experience in designing and developing secure systems and applications
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to perform under pressure
* Experience in making presentations to CxO level management

Preferred qualifications:

* Experience working on large O&M programs
* Experience in modernization of legacy systems
* Experience in designing and developing cloud-based applications and/or migrating applications to cloud
* Experience in the use of open source software in enterprise applications
* Experience working with Oracle ADF and Oracle Fusion Middleware
* Experience in implementing GIS preferably using ESRI Arc Tool suite
* Experience in implementing development processes to realize Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Deployment (CD) practices and tools
* Experience in the development of secure coding practices using automated code analysis/scanning tools
* Experience in working on Microsoft TFS as an agile lifecycle tool
* Experience in working on projects with SAFe methodology
* CSM/SAFe or similar agile certification
* Certification(s) in relevant Oracle technologies
* Cloud certification(s)
