Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Lead for our Server Engineering team to be responsible for architectural design, deployment and support of physical and virtual Windows Server infrastructure.  The department is also responsible for project related work as it relates Windows Server, Virtual infrastructure and SCCM. The Team Lead will work directly with the Manager and IT Architects to provide hands on role within Server Operations and Server Engineering and provide technical guidance to the team in coordinating Project and Enhancement related work to internal and external customers.  The Tech Lead must have strong technical knowledge and understanding of industry best practices in applying procedures, policies and methodologies for a SCCM, Cisco UCS infrastructure and VMware 6.x environment.  The Tech Lead provides outstanding customer service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

Responsibilities include:

* Participate in day-to-day execution of advanced level technical activities.
* Work with Manager and provide direction to the technical team:
* Oversee assignments and work of Team
* Participate in planning of work, delegate, and follow-up and provide support and guidance
* Evaluate their team's work processes and best practices and implement changes to streamline operations.
* Assist in providing training needs of Team members
* Assist Manager with project planning to ensure all Project and Enhancement tasks are completed on time.
* Mitigate escalation of client incidents and issues.
* Identify highly complex, non-routine issues and recommend corrective action.
* Maintain high level of technical expertise and business knowledge.
* Work with Manager to provide system benchmarks.
* Attend and conduct technical meetings to ensure standards and SLAs are maintained
* Gather business requirements from product owners and provide technical solutions that adhere to standards
* Participate in technology solutions design and projects.
* Provide subject matter expertise on new or upcoming technologies
* Conduct training and knowledge transfer to other IT members or departments.
* Oversee and foster collaboration with other organizational departments.

 

Requirements include:

* Very strong knowledge of server virtualization.
* Very strong knowledge of Windows 2012/2016 Server architecture.
* Strong virtualization and Windows Operating System knowledge.
* Strong knowledge of blade server technology, preferably with Cisco UCS.
* Strong knowledge of VMware
* Strong Knowledge on SCCM
* Project management skills
* Very strong problem solving and analytical skills.
* Very strong business writing skills
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools.
* Knowledge of Active Directory, SCCM, patch management, VDI, VMware.
* Ability to handle above average work load.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
* Possess a high degree of adaptability in order to learn new technologies as needed and successfully manage the daily challenges of a technical environment.

 

Desired:

* Knowledge of Microsoft SQL
* Knowledge of Citrix/VDI.
* Knowledge of networking technologies.
* Knowledge of Hitachi and EMC Storage Systems.
* Microsoft and VMware certifications
