Job Description

We, the engineers of the Battle.net & Online Products Applications Group, are looking for a passionate software engineering technical lead to join our web applications team. Our group crafts the BlizzCon online experience, our game News, new and exciting content experiences, including this very Careers site, plus plenty more! These experiences are delivered multi-platform, including our Blizzard web sites and inside of our Battle.net Desktop and Mobile applications. Our applications are used by millions of gamers around the world, an epic destination where players and spectators alike can catch up on the latest news, current and upcoming events, and live streams.

The ideal candidate is a strong experienced leader of both people and technology who enjoys teaming up with designers, program managers, and fellow engineers to build intuitive, efficient, maintainable, and highly polished online experiences. Proven ability to lead a team, mentor engineers, and set and drive technical vision are all critical components for the Technical Lead. Our web applications are built using Node.js, Java, and JavaScript using React and/or Vue.js.

Requirements

* Passion for delivering amazing features
* JavaScript and either Java or Node.js expertise with a minimum of 8 years' professional experience
* Experience leading successful development teams
* Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS and DOM
* Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular
* Familiarity with HTTP and basic networking concepts
* Strong verbal and written communications skills
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience

Pluses

* Experience creating and operating high scale web sites
* Familiarity with security standards
* Familiarity with Docker, NGINX, or OAuth
* Experience with mobile-first responsive design
* Experience with public cloud providers and cloud architectural patterns
