The Government Health and Safety Solutions Operation is seeking a Technical COTS and SW integrator in Baltimore or Rockville, MD.

The Systems for Inspections, Recalls, Compliance Enforcement (SIRCE) and Imports program supports the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Regulatory Affairs' (ORA) critical work to safeguard the foods, drugs, devices, biologics, and veterinary products that the Agency regulates. These systems continue to evolve to meet emerging business needs and to support new mandates and initiatives. It is important to respond to customer needs and issues. The Technical COTS and SW integrator is a highly technical and visible position that requires a strong mix of communications skills and hands on technical trouble shooting to support application issues and application of preventative measures.

Specific roles & responsibilities for the position include but not limited to the following:

Technical leadership of projects with skills in coordination, trouble shooting, identification of issues, risks, and schedules

Familiar with Middleware and infrastructure tools (e.g. Web servers, Oracle Forms, load balancers, Directory services, Authentication services)

Trouble shooting applications, interfaces, and server OS issues (LINUX, Windows, Exadata, Exalogic, Oracle databases)

Communication with internal team members and with external customers to communicate preventative measures, status, updates on risks and schedules

Lead various infrastructure projects to maximize software development environment efficiencies - planning for cloud migration, AppDynamics configuration, DevOps implementation

Software development and Test experience

Windows, LINUX systems administration experience

Oracle DBA experience with related DB products (TOAD, SQL Developer)

Experience with SW deployment tools (Example Puppet)

Experience with Security scan software/tools and resolution techniques

Experience with Application Migration to cloud solutions

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and Minimum 10 years hands on technical experience and oversight of complex IT projects on multiple platforms

General knowledge of firewall rules, networking configurations and access

Working across multiple stakeholders including other contractors to solve challenging IT issues

Minimum 5 years system configuration with applications, LINUX servers, Windows servers, troubleshooting firewall issues, NW issues, application integration issues

Minimum 5 years of enterprise level system and application trouble shooting for Database applications, Web applications, and client/server applications

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Ability to clearly articulate key technical concepts and ideas.

Ability to work well in a team environment spanning multiple locations.

Ability to work independently and with a team

Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Desired skills:

FDA Customer experience

Experience with large-scale datacenter applications

Windows/LINUX certification(s)

Cloud Computing experience with AWS, Azure, and VM Ware and related certifications

LINUX, Windows certifications
