Job Description

The Advanced Concepts & Technologies Group develops technology to protect land and sea assets from air and missile threats, which operate in a rapidly evolving complex Electronic Warfare (EW) environment. The group's research and development activities span a wide spectrum including concept development, advanced algorithms development, prototyping, experimental field-testing, and analysis of systems and data. Of particular interest to the group is the development of: software-reconfigurable electronic warfare systems and prototypes, advanced signal processing algorithms for signal exploitation, resource coordination techniques for enhanced battle management, and artificial intelligence to enable the development of next generation countermeasures, sensors, and enhanced human-machine teaming for fleet defense. Due to the wide-ranging nature of research, this dynamic group is comprised of a diverse team of scientists and engineers with expertise in physics, mathematics, computer science, and various engineering backgrounds. The group values inclusiveness, fosters mentoring at all levels, and promotes critical and innovative thinking to address the needs of the warfighter

Job Description

The Advanced Concepts and Technologies Group is looking for PhD level candidate who can contribute across a variety of projects including research in systems analysis, human-machine collaboration, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and serious games. The candidate will work with a diverse team to develop advanced algorithms and artificial intelligence concepts, human-machine teaming algorithms, testing scenarios, design experiments to collect critical data from users, and develop automated decision aids (agents) that learn and adapt from humans behaviors.

Required Skills:

* PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or similar field
* Relevant coursework in: Probability and statistics, signals and systems, digital signal processing, image/video processing, computer vision, machine learning, and/or big data processing

Desired Skills:

* Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, Julia, C++, or similar
* Strong oral and written communication skills
