Tech Lead, Software Engineering Discipline-Tech College

We are creating something unique and unprecedented: a re-imagined hub for technology training called Tech College. This is a bold investment in developing our associates and leaders, recruiting top technical and non-technical talent, and continuing to differentiate ourselves in the market.

As a Tech Lead, you'll be responsible for developing the curriculum and contributing to the growth of software engineers throughout Capital One. You are passionate about software craftsmanship and staying up to date with industry trends. You lead by example.

You will use your in-depth knowledge of architecture, infrastructure, application development, and software development methodologies to own and drive an agenda that enables Capital One associates and executives to develop Software Engineering skills from basic to mastery levels. You would be leading curriculum development for Software Engineers throughout the company and recruiting experts to work on various projects from language education to building and creating applications at Capital One. This role is looking for someone who understands the full stack of software delivery and has extensive experience delivering software.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree or military experience


* At least 5 years of experience in object oriented software engineering, and application design, and application development


* At least 5 years of experience with software delivery as part of an engineering team to include version control, code reviews, and release management


* At least 5 years of experience with building and consuming API's



Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in Computer Science, or Engineering, or Information Technology


* 6+ years of experience in software engineering


* 1+ years of experience with cloud computing tools or certification with AWS or GCP or Azure


* 1+ years of experience with CI/CD Best Practices and Automation


* 1+ years of experience with Data Warehouse and Analytics



Responsibilities:

* Work with other teams to create curriculums and improve the quality of Software Engineering throughout Capital One


* Understand the strategy and architectures of Capital One


* Continually establish and adopt software craftsmanship best practices


* Assist with mentoring and coaching of Software Engineers throughout Capital One


* Break down barriers for the developers through experience and ingenuity
