Boston Children's Hospital Heart Center seeks a Windows Systems Administrator to implement and support vendor clinical systems, internal application servers and data servers within an Active Directory environment. In our premier pediatric health care setting, our Systems Administrators maintain and support systems that enhance the clinical, quality assurance, research and administrative activities within the Heart Center. This candidate will work with other team members to provide high level support for our clinical systems and server infrastructure.

This Windows Systems Administrator III will be responsible for:

* Managing clinical system server environments and effectively work with vendors to maintain system stability for critical patient care systems.
* Installing new, rebuild, and upgrade servers (hardware, services, settings, etc.) in accordance with project and operational requirements.
* Working with team to manage and perform OS and driver patching.
* Performing regular proactive system health checks.
* Effectively manage multiple assigned projects to meet the needs of Heart Center.
* Working closely with Heart Center and hospital IS teams to maintain a secure system environment for both internal and external facing applications.
* Availability for after-hours and weekend on-call rotations.
* Availability to work some evenings & weekends as needed.

To qualify, you must have:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or its equivalent.
* MCSA or MCSE preferred.
* Self-motivated individual who will be a positive contributor, motivating other team members.
* 5+ years of experience in Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of latest Microsoft Server OS and Server related products.
* Detail-oriented focus with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2012 environments.
* Active Directory administration.
* Group Policy management.
* Web application administration and deployment in an IIS environment.
* Microsoft server products such as SQL, SharePoint, and TFS.
* Microsoft SCCM and other deployment technologies.
* Server storage management, user quotas, shares and NTFS permissions.
* SAN and NAS storage environments.
* VM Ware ESX server environment a plus.
* Symantec Backup Exec or EMC Networker a plus.
* Experience in the healthcare industry.
* Experience with cardiac clinical systems a plus.
* Familiarity with HIS and HL7 systems a plus.
