Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

* A Systems Engineer (SE) is a unique individual who combines the communications skills to build strong professional relationships with the technical skills to develop compelling network solutions that solve customers' business issues. The SE partners with an account manager to drive growth while enhancing customer satisfaction in the assigned accounts.
* Daily activities include direct customer & partner engagement; comprehensive discovery, information sharing & collaborative solution design; proposal development; solution demonstrations; proof-of-concept test design & execution. SEs also work collaboratively within Juniper to highlight emerging customer requirements & use cases, convey competitive landscape, and coordinate with Juniper & partner professional services to ensure implementations meet or exceed customer expectations. Additionally, time is invested in technical, professional and leadership development through self-study and formal training.

POSITION SPECIFICS

This position covers a large geography and diverse customer base. In the same day you may deal with a business-critical and demanding service provider network as well as a small school district just beginning to consider higher bandwidth requirements. Travel is a necessity. A Seattle-based individual is ideal.

EXPERIENCE

* A minimum of 5 years of experience as a pre-sales SE for a network vendor; 10 or more years network engineering experience.
* Strong hands-on experience with Juniper solutions or equivalent
* Experience designing/building secure and scalable campus LANs, WLANs, WANs and Data Centers.
* JNCIE or equivalent highly desirable.

REQUIRED SKILLS - NETWORKING FUNDAMENTALS

* BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, OSPF, Clos, Campus LAN (wired and wireless), NG Firewalls

DESIRED SKILLS - AUTOMATION AND VIRTUALIZATION, SERVICE PROVIDER NETWORKING

* Python, Ansible, SLAX, JET, PyEZ, NETCONF, Yang, Containers
* Subscriber management
