Job Description

Millennium Engineering and Integration (Millennium) is seeking a Full-Time Systems Engineering Lead in the El Segundo, CA area. The position supports the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) at Los Angeles Air Force Base. The candidate will lead the systems engineering responsibilities of the non-recurring design validation of New Entrant Launch Service Providers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Implement Systems Engineering best practices to identify, track, and validate certification requirements and Launch Service Provider compliance.
* Assist in conducting major systems engineering reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc) and developing summary packages
* Assist in maintaining situational awareness of certification progress and metrics through creating and presenting summary briefings and leveraging status tracking tools
* Capture and report certification 'lessons learned'
* Lead local systems engineers in accomplishing systems engineering tasks and activities
* Direct and manage team of systems engineers in geographically separated locations
* Other Duties as Assigned

Skills:

* 16 years of systems engineering experience+BS degree in Engineering, Math, or Physical Sciences; will consider less experience in lieu of advanced degrees (14 years with MS, 12 with PhD) and/or specialized training/experience related to the role
* Experience supporting DoD weapon systems programs
* Experience working in and leading multi-disciplined teams of engineers
* Experience interfacing with and implementing computer-based database and schedule tools
* BS degree in Engineering, Math, or Physical Sciences
* Systems Engineering experience in development of launch vehicle systems
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Some CONUS travel required
* US Citizenship Required

Education:

Minimum education required: Bachelor's degree - Systems Engineering - Will consider all math, science and engineering degrees.

Preferred education required: Master's degree - Systems Engineering - Will consider all math, science and engineering degrees.

Knowledge:

Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations. Looking for 16-20 years of experience.
