This is an opportunity to work on the Labs and Tech
Services (L&TS) System Engineering team. L&TS a
highly innovative team responsible for developing,
testing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems
and subsystems utilized for aircraft capability
integration and weapons systems development from
concept design through production and delivery.
Within L&TS resides an extensive collection of
systems integration and test capabilities, including
low-cost rapid prototyping concept development
systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations,
high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop
simulation systems, Reprogramming Laboratories,
and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and
vehicle systems integration venues.
This position is for a Mission Systems Integration Laboratory (MSIL) Systems Integration Engineer position assigned to the F-35 program. The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as Electronic Warfare (EW) Subject Matter Expert to perform System Integration on the F-35 Projects. The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as a technical lead in performing system integration planning, system integration and verification activities that are necessary to successfully complete milestones leading up to the full verification, validation and delivery of the F35 product capabilities as needed.
The system integration activities include providing
technical oversight for: System Integration Planning,
System Integration execution, participation in System
Requirements Reviews, participant in Supplier
Technical Reviews, System Configuration
Management Controls, System Requirements
Verification, System Performance Validation, and
onsite installation and acceptance testing, and onsite.
This position will require close coordination with
Project Leadership and with F-35 Joint Program
Office (JPO) representatives, plus proactive
engagement with L&TS simulation software,
subsystem procurement, hardware development
teams, and other teams both inside and outside LM
Aeronautics, to ensure an effective system
engineering communication interface is established
and maintained across the different subsystems
development teams.
This position may require unique program security
clearances that will be initiated upon selection and
acceptance in filling this position. Final approval of
these security clearances is dependent upon the
Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an
extensive amount of time to be granted. During this
waiting period, the work assignments directly related
to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary
organization work assignments will be provided.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a
facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a STEM discipline
* Experience in performing one or more of the following: system requirements development, system design development, system integration and verification.
* Experience with simulation systems.
* Experience with verifying requirements through the creation/execution of SWAT automated and manual test procedures; Updating Test Procedure module with new procedures and test results within requirements and verification traceability tools DOORS; and Updating Serena Dimensions documentation to support associated software development life cycles within configuration management tools.
