SENIOR SYSTEM ENGINEER (IEWSD-19-1100-F):

Bowhead seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support the IEWS-D program at Fort Belvoir, VA. The Senior Systems Engineer will join our team on the ground floor of a newly awarded five-year contract. The Senior Systems Engineer is expected to be a Subject Matter Expert, and as such must have extensive experience with supporting the design, configuration and functionality of consolidated systems, hardware and software, and have had responsibilities for ensuring the optimization and efficiency of the design and development of similar systems in recent years.

Essential functions will include:

* Producing written documentation such as Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs) and other related acquisition documents - examples include writing Interface Control Documentation, Weekly Status Reports, documentation of technical subjects and plans to mitigate, technical notes and white papers as required
* Supporting the acquisition lifecycle support documentation for both new and sustaining programs, including supporting the Milestone Decision activities
* Providing system engineering oversight, feedback and recommendations on the conduct of Milestone Decision activities, as well as participating in design review meetings, while providing expert advice and implementable solution recommendations Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Applied Science (or related field such as Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics or similar) is required. Qualified candidates with a degree in Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or other technical discipline may be considered with sufficient experience.
* Must have at least five to eight (5-8) years of relevant experience within the last eight (8) years.
* Must have demonstrable experience with producing written documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs) and other related acquisition documents.
* Any familiarity with Biometrics and/or Intelligence and Sensors-type systems is desired, but not required.
* Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. To receive and respond to instructions/assignments, must be able to read, write and speak English.
* Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
