Job summary

The Sales Engineer (SE) is responsible for alignment and selling EXFO's exclusive Service Assurance portfolio (intelligent, automated, cloud-based test and monitoring solutions) and real-time topology visibility with end-to-end network analytics into the US Service Provider market.

Reporting to the Director, Systems and Software, the SE will be an integral part of a dynamic leading edge technology team of sales professionals and engineers, who will successfully identify, drive, and close complex opportunities.

This position requires an accomplished technical sales professional with experience and knowledge in developing custom Assurance and professional services solutions across Wireless and Wireline networks. Additionally, extensive experience in identifying customer needs, building a challenger based program around those needs and jointly delivering with the customer.

What you'll do

More specifically, your duties will consist of the following:

* Promote EXFO´s entire portfolio to our clientele, leveraging all EXFO capabilities in collaboration with account team co-workers.
* Drive product development and solutions internally that provide sound technological needs while meeting profitability expectations. Establish a close working relationship with EXFO product management to ensure our clients´ needs are well known and understood.
* Work with sale group helping to manage customer expectations and maintain ongoing and regular communication with the customer.
* Provide constant feedback to company leadership and product management teams on the competition and changes in technology trends.
* Work with sales, systems engineering and the services organization to jointly develop "scope of work" requirements for proposal development
* Extensive knowledge and customer acceptance of how Service Assurance Solutions solve customer problems, and by providing true consultative expertise to EXFO customers

What we're looking for

Technical skills

* Designing complex solution concepts, using multiple aspects of EXFO's assurance and topology analytics.
* Versed in Service Assurance solutions selling to Service Providers. Knowledge of telecom testing technology and methodologies (network turn-up, troubleshooting, and analytics)
* Experience working with Service Provider Architecture; planning and aligning to their strategic investments
* Extensive knowledge with virtual networks, how they are designed, and Service Assurance challenges in a virtual environment
* Experience in positioning and selling Professional Services
* Aptitude with continuously learning and adapting to telecommunications emerging technologies
* Knowledgeable with access, transport, wireless core, and RAN networks
* Advanced proficiency with challenger based solution selling, demonstrating in-depth sales and consulting skills
* Experience in building use cases and SOW's

Required aptitudes

* Outstanding relationships and knowledge of the network service providers market - wireless and wireline experience is required
* Experience and ability to work in a team environment
* Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship building skills - internal and external
* Demonstrated ability to work with product line, engineering and service delivery teams based in both North America and global business divisions
* Strong customer advocacy skills complemented by ability to effectively position the value proposition and benefits from the customer perspective
* Enthusiastic and self-motivated, self-starter and able to interact with people at all levels
* Autonomous, well organized, and results-oriented
* Possess leadership qualities and ability to collaborate with supporting teams

Must have

Pertinent experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in direct or indirect Systems - Service Assurance, and/or Topology and/or OSS and/or Telecom Testing fields

Language requirements: English - written and spoken. Multi language skills is an asset.

Education: University degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Travel: Approximately 50 - 70%
