We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our operations team, to help us build our global footprint and assist with some of our growing pains. The mission is simple - make sure gamers can game. You will be working on both physical and virtual infrastructure navigating all the challenges that come with working with full stack systems. We use our expertise to make sure our technology stack is fully automated, placing a large focus on efficiency and resilience to deliver our mission.

Responsibilities

* You will help manage, troubleshoot and maintain automated systems across our compute estate and review and improve non-automated systems
* Resolve incidents across multiple globally-distributed teams
* Monitor high uptime, low latency services to ensure the best experience for our customers
* Diagnose and fix issues with our custom game scaling toolset
* Troubleshoot and maintain an end-to-end network from the server all the way to the players
* Set expectations when delivering projects to customers and internal teams to help make game launches smooth
* You will be required to take part in an on-call rota (one week in four), which is shared between operations staff and you must hold a UK driving licence

Requirements

* Knowledge of operating systems, particularly Linux
* Experience working to a CCNP level, managing switches and routers in diverse geographic locations
* Proficiency with scripting languages such as BASH, Python and Javascript
* Comfortable handling production 24/7 services
* Ability to manage own varied workload, prioritize accordingly and meet deadlines

Bonus points

* Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Puppet or Ansible
* Familiar with widely open source technologies like Kibana/Logstash/Docker
* Comfortable using software development practices like code review
* Knowledge of InfluxDB and Grafana for monitoring and alerting
* Passion for learning and researching new technologies and programming languages such as Golang
* Hands-on data centre experience
* Healthy obsession with metrics and measurement
