Job Description

Our quest to create the best gaming world for our players requires many systems and teams that need to work together in unison to deliver an awesome end to end experience. Bungie has a need for an experienced Systems Engineer who will be at the front line of our entire services architecture.

Help us make great games while working with great people in a small team environment that encourages people to work beyond strict roles and do what's necessary for the team, the studio and most importantly the players.

Responsibilities

* Deploy and maintain multiple internal and internet facing environments for both development and the live game


* Work with multiple teams, from engineering to operations to network infrastructure, to create, maintain and where necessary implement solutions for service impacting issues


* Gather service metrics and assist in root cause analysis


* Implement means to fully automate our deployment process via scripting


* Contribute to ongoing development efforts through playtesting, special projects and/or providing technical solutions to problems


* Manage projects and coordinate with Team Leads and other departments in the studio


* Work with service engineering to ensure what is created is maintainable and can be monitored by the operations center



Required skills

* 3+ years professional experience working in a multi-tier server architecture that supports a high volume of concurrent users


* Associates degree in networking, IT or a related discipline


* Ability to do script programming in an industry standard language (e.g., PowerShell, JavaScript, Perl, Python or similar)


* Experience with Microsoft based technologies, specifically Windows and SQL Server


* Familiarity with Hyper-V or other virtualization solutions


* Passion about contributing to design of services by working with and giving feedback to engineering teams to ensure they are both scalable and maintainable


* Excellent problem solving/debugging capabilities

* Willingness to be part of an on call rotation


* Proven understanding of security concepts, principles, and practices

Nice-to-have skills

* BA/BS in computer science or a related discipline


* Experience with Amazon or Azure web services


* Familiarity with C# or C++


* Passion for documentation


* A working familiarity with Linux/Unix


* MCSE, CCNP, CCIE or WCNA certification


* Familiar with agile software development (e.g., scrum, Kanban, etc.)
