Systems Engineer

Elation is looking to hire a Systems Engineer, responsible for collaborating to improve our infrastructure and our team's ability to observe and operate our services as we grow. The right candidate is a strong software developer who's passionate about infrastructure and devops.

Responsibilities

* Build out infrastructure and tools while hardening security
* Support the team's learning and competence in operational responsibilities
* Help improve continuous integration and software deployments, identifying and implementing ways to improve and automate processes
* Collaborate with the team to identify performance bottlenecks and make improvements
* Proactively monitor, analyze, and work with the team to help correct application issues
* Participate and/or project-planning meeting providing guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact and costs vs. benefits

Skills

* 3-5+ years experience in software development / systems engineering roles
* Strong proficiency in Python
* Strong linux systems administration skills
* Solid understanding of networking and modern web tools
* Extensive experience with AWS
* Experience automation/configuration management
* Experience with Docker and containerization
* Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work, and ability to multitask
* Excellent communication and collaboration

Bonus Points

* Experience or interest with relational and non-relational datastores
* Experience with Terraform, Ansible
* Experience with our monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Newrelic, Cloudwatch
* Knowledge of, or strong interest in, the US healthcare industry and common technologies used
