Join our team to help work on a project tasked to work side-by-side with data scientists using some of the world's most powerful super computers to solve problems and run complex simulations. You'll be building systems and developing features in a cutting edge High Performance Computing environment to help manage the vast amount of data generated by the super computers.

Responsibilities

* Provide support expertise for complex systems and associated integrated software, to include PostgreSQL, Kerberos, Splunk, ActiveMQ, Integrated Rule-Oriented Data System (iRODS), and other COT applications
* Administration of Linux systems and components
* Administration and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL database server
* Performs Database product tuning and management
* Responsible for system security and data integrity
* Establishes procedures for maintaining user accounts, assigns file permissions and establishes password and account policies; installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a production environment
* Troubleshoots and resolves complex system hardware, software and communications problems; creates shell programs and utility scripts; performs configurations and adjustments to enhance database file capacity; performs automated and manual backup and restore processes
* Assists with the baseline performance testing of data retrieval and tuning activities to increase performance
* Maintains and updates system documentation artifacts
* Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure
* Performs and/or oversees daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
* Performs and/or oversees daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media

Qualifications

Required:

* Requires bachelor's degree (in Engineering, Computer Science or related field) or equivalent experience
* Active Secret Security Clearance
* CompTIA Security+ within the first month of employment
* 5-7 years' experience - Linux Administration
* 3-5 years' experience Postgres SQL Database Server exp
* 3-5 years' experience - Experience with scripting (python, etc.)
* 3-5 years - Must have significant, hands-on experience with Agile software development



Preferred Experience:

* 2+ years' experience working on an Agile team
* DoD Experience, IRODS
* 3-5 years of web-based system architecture and integrating web-based systems and COTS
* 2+ years experience - DoD system accreditation processes
* 1-2 years of Apache, and Tomcat configuration
* 3-4 years Kerberos
* 3-4 years PKI

Preferred Skills:

* Technical Writing

Must have or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
