As a System Analyst II, you will be responsible for scoping project activities and objectives and for overseeing program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation. You should have experience working in a remote IT development environment. This is a Part-Time position and work location will be in Alexandria, VA. This position is contingent upon award.
Job Responsibilities:
* Formulate/define system scope and objectives for assigned projects. * Understand business or function for which the application is designed. Specific areas include, but are not limited to, enterprise and federated search in a scientific and technical information as well as a business environment, metrics and visualization for a variety of audiences including senior managers. * Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, form of desired results, and business processes. * Interact with client and business Subject Matter Experts to ensure appropriate interfaces, workflows, and system-people integration. * Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. * Some travel to client sites in the Washington DC and other U.S. locations may be required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience
Experience with scientific and technical information in a federal government environment is a plus.
Required Skills:
* Full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. * Proven ability to quickly understanding business and technical environment in which the applications are being developed. * Proven working experience in the information technology sector providing technical services and expertise to operate, monitor, and maintain IT applications and associated software. * Expertise in preparing program specifications and executing them in an Agile software development environment. * Experience with enterprise search, federated search, metrics and visualization preferred. * Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Self-motivated and capable of working independently and with a team. * Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
Education:
* BS in Computer Science or related field or Associate's with 7 years of relevant experience
Clearance Requirements:
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance. Candidates must be US Citizens to be eligible for the DOD Secret Clearance.
