Job Description

The System Engineer will be based in Irving, TX. In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing, defining, and implementing system requirements for complex medical systems/products and/or preparing studies and analyzing existing systems prior to the transition to manufacturing for new product introduction.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

* Develop system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software/mechanical compatibility.
* Define system level risk management strategies.
* Develop overall system architecture, black box, and grey box designs.
* Identify, analyze and resolve system deficiencies.
* Provide complex system development and consultation to prospective users.
* Interface with and lead customer product development calls and meetings that pertain to the overall system architecture and performance specification.
* Respond to customer inquiries on system performance as it relation to the system architecture.
* Responsible for systems level development and testing requirements. Approve test reports.
* Provide technical supplier management as related to key system component selection.
* Demonstrate leadership capability to represent systems group with a 'hands-on' approach.
* Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness of the highest standard and quality of work.
* Exhibit sound and accurate judgment and support and explain reasoning for decisions.
* Understand and finalize specifications on the design requirements through communication with customers and/or internal project leaders.
* Create system test specification for design verification.
* Review or participate in testing (Feasibility, Characterization, Verification, and performance) as required according to the quality standards.
* Support department manager in identifying future technologies.
* Lead the system integration efforts. Participate in design and technical reviews.
* Travel 5-10%.

Here is some of what you'll need (required):

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
* 10+ years of experience in the field or related area.
* Strong experience with electromechanical devices within a highly regulated environment (automotive, defense, medical, etc.).
* Experience in multi-level requirements decomposition.
* Experience writing and evaluating for proper requirement structure and content.
* Experience in system architecture trade-off analysis.
* Familiar with a variety of electromechanical design concepts, practices, and procedures.
* Demonstrated technical leadership experience.

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

* Experience in design of software-driven electromechanical class 2 and 3 medical devices.
* Familiar with IEC-60601 and collateral documents.
