Job Description

At Cerner we're working at the intersection of health and technology. We create software solutions to support clinicians and healthcare professionals in hospitals and healthcare organisations worldwide, and we are looking for a System Engineer (Back-End) to join exciting projects across Sweden for an integrated digital healthcare environment, replacing hundreds of existing IT systems in hospitals and primary care facilities for a comprehensive solution. The new system includes a service to manage the health of millions of citizens and a modern digital care system that allows for increased patient participation, safer patient experience, and improved work environment for healthcare professionals.

Cerner Technology Services (CTS) is one of the fastest growing segments of Cerner's business. CTS's primary function is to host, manage and monitor client systems. Additionally, CTS provides disaster recovery and temp hosting services for Cerner clients. CTS' remote hosting option (RHO) provides superior performance, security, reliability, and scalability with a lower up-front financial commitment from the client by combining hardware, networking technologies, and technical expertise. It allows healthcare organizations to leverage the most sophisticated and powerful IT solutions available today from our state-of-the-art data centers.

As a Back-End System Engineer, you will be working with UNIX (AIX/HP-UX/Linux), conduct the daily, weekly, and monthly activities required to deliver multiple project tasks on-time while following all process and procedures', escalating issues as necessary, and create/update all necessary documentation. In addition, you will be responsible for but not limited to OS installs, upgrades, hardware moves and migrations, new server builds, providing advanced escalation support (including engaging vendor support), performance monitoring and tuning, host configuration of provisioned SAN storage and project management. You will also develop and deploy automation tools to optimize daily activities and complete assigned incident management tasks.
