Qualifications

* B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
* 3+ years of NAS administration experience
* Sound understanding of SAN and NAS storage concepts.
* Familiar with fundamental networking / distributed computing environments and concepts including DNS, WINS, and Active Directory
* Must have knowledge of Dell EMC environment and concepts - NAS, CIFS, Volume Management
* Performs troubleshooting and repairs as required as Tier 3 support
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills: capable of training Administrators in complex topics, making presentations to internal groups.
* Must have a DoD Public Trust or higher
* 8570 Compliance IAT Level II or higher (Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security active certification required)
* Able to communicate with customer at various levels of management.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Linux/UNIX experience
* ITIL certification
* Previous exposure and experience in government data center
* Familiarity with Symantec Netbackup application and backup fundamentals
* Able to write intricate system and user documentation. Capable of writing and explaining purchase justifications.
* Independent problem solving; self-directed, self-starting.

Responsibilities

This position will support, monitor and maintain an IT infrastructure consisting of Linux and Windows platforms.

Job duties include supporting over 15 production servers and 100 client computers in a LAN/WAN environment. You will be a member of a Network Operations team of system and network administrator, and enterprise Subject Matter Experts located in the Washington, DC metro area. You will be expected to share time with the other System Administrators in providing on-call 24x7 support and there will be some after hours and weekend responsibilities expected.

* Perform application patches, updates and tech bulletins in the production environment
* Assist Systems Lead with related tasks as required
* Assist Network Administrators to maintain the environment as required
* Provide day-to-day SME level operational support including responding to incidents, troubleshooting, giving suggestions, and executing corrective action
* Design and implement O&M solutions based on NAS storage technology
* Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
* Implement storage solutions from requirements to production environment
* Develop project documentation such as project plan, detailed design, requirements analysis and implementation plans
* Work side-by-side with Systems & Operations team to deploy new solutions into the infrastructure
* Administration of Windows and Linux based server systems
* Performs troubleshooting and repairs as required as Tier 3 support
