What you'll be doing...

You'll be working on a team with an objective of developing distributed platform to govern Tableau cloud fabric resources and monitor health of services to sustain highest level customer experience. The platform sits at the core of throttling and monitoring application services and has significant visibility in Cloud & Fabric organization. The platform needs to be scalable, highly performant and real-time to cater to various Tableau services.

Some of the things you'll be doing are:

* Design & develop micro-services to adopt to changing business requirements quickly.
* Learn and maintain team-wide architectural vision, standards, and constraints. Develop technology roadmaps and code to realize the vision.
* Full stack development from application backend through business logic and UI for customer experience.
* Support leadership with prioritization and planning activities by providing technical insight into upcoming and ongoing releases.
* Mentoring junior developers and other technology peers.
* Collaborating across a geographically distributed set of teams.

Who you are…

* Experienced. 10+ years of experience in software engineering as software developer.
* Highly-technical. You have very strong coding and debugging skills and a deep understanding of distributed services, such as query processing, storage, performance optimization, data extraction, etc.. You're fluent in Java and knowledgeable in C++. You know from experience what it takes to deliver truly distributed services in cloud, get it running at scale and sustain it in long term.
* Flexible. While it's true that you know your stuff inside and out, you aren't afraid to learn new areas and stretch yourself to handle whatever need arises.
* Educated. You hold a MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
* A True Team Player. You enjoy collaborating, learning from or teaching others so we can all become better developers. People love working with you because you help them up their game.
* A Problem Solver. You have a passion for solving complex problems, be they at work or in your spare time on your own projects.
