Role and Responsibilities

This position a Senior Manager role, who will be managing 4+ Protocol Engineers and be responsible for "Interoperability Testing" and "Lab Conformance" of all Samsung Cellular connected devices that will be launched with US Operators. Responsibilities include Samsung and 3rd party resource management to handle all Samsung devices across various US Operator and 3rd party labs, plan and execute IOT/LC testing, provide overall status to all Samsung Mobile R&D stake-holders, identify/escalate any critical issues, directly with Operator Labs and SMEs on issue and waiver negotiations. Additional responsibilities include test scope finalization, test scope reduction and vendor management. This role will work very closely with local Samsung teams (TPM, RFI.NA..), remote Samsung teams (SW PL, CP, RFI…) and Carrier/3rd party Lab teams. There will significant amount of out of box thinking for optimally utilizing resources, identifying criticality of issues arising during IOT/LC, making recommendations for test scope changes and keeping KPIs..

Required Skills

* BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent area.
* 8+ years of experience in 3GPP/3GPP2 technologies.
* Experience in 5G Protocols and Specifications
* 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager in mobile industry and working with multiple teams to deliver final products.
* Strong debugging and log analysis skills for issues ranging from protocol stack to device hardware to network elements. Experience with protocol log analysis tools like QXDM, Wireshark, etc.
* Strong knowledge of IMS/ VoLTE and many upcoming new technologies based on 3GPP Release 12/13 standards.
* Expert at the practical application of program management principles and tools.
* Working experience with USA carriers and knowledge of their requirements and test plans is a plus.

* Typically requires at least 8 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years
