Job Description

Are you excited to solve world-class problems in cloud computing? Are you passionate about building and delivering cloud services with other talented software developers? Are you willing to have fun? If your answers are, "Yes, yes, and YES!", then Amazon Elastic Cloud Computing (EC2) may be your ideal workplace. EC2 is crucial for Amazon's long-term success as a technology services company. It is both the cornerstone and the future of Amazon. We are rapidly expanding our team to meet the fast-growing needs from our customers.

The AWS EC2 team at Amazon.com is looking for a passionate and innovative Senior Technical Program Manager. In this role, you will work with multiple engineering teams to design and build new tools and services to support AWS EC2.

Ideal candidates are passionate about optimizing the software development experience at a very large scale in a cloud-based computing environment. You must have an established background in delivering customer-facing solutions, strong technical skills, excellent program project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You are a strong leader who can prioritize well, negotiate effectively, communicate clearly and compellingly. You understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence within a complex set of teams and dependencies. You are comfortable working with both software engineers and business stakeholders, and you partner with the business leadership to define, drive, and execute high priority technology projects.

In this role you will be responsible for translating business requirements to functional specifications, coordinating architecture designs, building the project schedule from design to delivery, and making appropriate tradeoffs to manage risks. As the owner of your projects and/or programs, you need to clearly set the goals and communicate the latest status to both software development teams and internal business stakeholders. The ideal candidate can work independently, appreciate diverse perspectives, enjoys tackling ambiguous yet complex problems, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
