Overview

The Technical Consultant participates in the technical deliverables on projects involving the implementation of JDA's Supply Chain Planning solution.

JDA Software is currently seeking a Technical Consultant to join our Global Technical Services team. This position will report to the Sr Technical Director. The Technical Consultant is a virtual role with 75% travel.

Responsibilities

* Works with project team to understand and help to refine and define project technical requirements from technical specifications.
* Diagnoses technical and business expectations on a project.
* Optimizes JDA profit margin through quality design, minimizing unprofitable rework and post-implementation support.
* Works with the customer team in the design, development, testing and implementation phases of the project.
* Works with customer's MIS team to manage the technical activities of each implementation phase of assigned project.
* Participates in customer liaison activities to ensure project success.
* Provides estimates to project managers of complex work and resource requirements.
* Provides leadership to small technical teams as necessary.
* Assists in resolution of problems escalated by the customer or other JDA associates.
* Consults with customers/associates concerning maintenance and performance of software systems.
* Escalates issues that may have negative scheduling or financial impact.
* Estimates specifications accurately.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree. Master's Degree preferred.
* 2-3 years of experience with deploying Supply Chain Planning solutions (SAP / Oracle Manufacturing/ Manugistics/ i2)
* Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
* Experience with participating in design sessions, resolving technical issues during various project phases.
* Working knowledge of Oracle databases and Windows and Unix (including Linux) operating environments.
* Knowledge of Unix Shell & Windows scripting, Python and Strong SQL skills.
* Experience with analysis of big data, machine learning algorithmic engines and concepts is a plus.
* Any Experience integration platforms like Informatica or MuleSoft is a plus.
* Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States & Canada.
* Experience working in a temporary project role and participated, to some degree, in a solution implementation targeting specific project requirements as either a customer of JDA's or as a consultant providing services for customers.
* Ability to work with appropriate parties to effectively determine rough order of magnitude effort estimates.
* Experience conducting technical analysis sessions to understand the functional and technical needs of project requirements and the developed technical solutions to meet those needs.
* Strong client facing skills, superlative written and verbal communication skills are a must.
* Must be customer focused.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a global team.
* Ability to work onsite or remotely as needed.
