Maxar Technologies is searching for a motivated Sr. Systems Engineer with agile application development, testing, deployment, and integration experience to support a program developing an intelligence exploitation capability. You will be responsible for applying agile systems engineering processed to the development and delivery of the application. This position is located in Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities:

* Provide technical input into full project life-cycle including: CONOPs, requirements development and definition, feature estimation, oversight of system design and developer implementation, systems test and evaluation, deployment and operational implementation
* Assess technical solutions provided by developers and provide recommendations to the team and government customer
* Test and evaluate new system capabilities
* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

* Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to pass a CI polygraph


* Requires a Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering discipline (i.e., Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science)


* Requires 10 years of technical professional experience


* Experience with automated testing tools such as Jenkins


* Expertise in Atlassian Suite of Agile Development tools - Confluence, Portfolio, Kanban, etc.


* Strong object-oriented programming language (Java, Python) skills


* Willing to work onsite at Government customer sites in Northern Virginia


* Cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM, Rackspace)
* Containerization (Docker, Linux containers, Jails)
* Experience with SSL/PKI, to include ability to isolate and resolve SSL-related server and client issues
* Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Atlassian Jira and Confluence)
* NoSQL databases (ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
* SQL/database experience
* Knowledge of and previous experience defining technical requirements, tracking sprint development progress, and documenting test plans and their results


* Self-starter who takes initiative and is quick to understand tasking,


* Must be flexible, organized, and understand the big picture but can focus on the mission-critical details


* Excellent oral and written communication skill Critical thinker with proven problem-solving skills



Desired Skills:

* Familiarity with Spring framework
* Experience in machine learning and data science
* OGC web services (WMS,WMTS, WCS, WFS)
* Experience with IC analytic tools (e.g., Analyst Notebook, Palantir, etc.)
* Experience with development tools such as Git, Eclipse, Maven
* Effective oral and written communication skills to include active listening
* Linux experience
* JavaScript web frameworks (Angular, React, Backbone, jQuery, Ember)
