Job Description:

The Sr. Systems Architect (SA) is responsible for leading all work related to architecture and design for the search and retrieval capabilities including technical specifications, configuration, customized development of add-ons to the off-the-shelf search product, integration, testing, deployment, infrastructure requirements, as well as oversight of ongoing operational maintenance and upgrades associated with the application. The SA will interpret product and project requirements and translate these into implemented solutions. Consults with lead engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements of the overall system. The SA ensures that products delivered are supportable and cost effective. The SA will provide technical consultancy, expertise and advice to management on all matters related to technical architecture, infrastructure and software development operations, maintenance and modernization, to include feasibility for all these factors.

Qualifications:

* BS Degree with 6+ years of experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
* Active Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance Required

Preferred Additional Skills:

* B.S. degree, preferably in Engineering or in a technical area of science and research OR equivalent job experience
* Experience as a Systems Architect for development/integration programs
* Knowledge of ICD 503 requirements and their application to secure information systems
* Experience designing service based enterprise systems
* Knowledge of various search engine platforms and underlying technologies
* Experience with systems that employ multiple search engine platforms such as Voyager GIS, HP IDOL, SOLR Lucene, etc.
* Knowledge of semantic web, search, and tagging technologies and strategies
* Experience in redesigning legacy systems into end state optimized architectures
* Experience supporting US Government strongly desired
* Experience with well-defined Systems Engineering processes a plus
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills with experience in delivering/presenting to customer
* Domain knowledge to address challenges specific to NGA as they relate to discovering content Understanding/experience with imagery data processing and exploitation
